Time Travel Thursday

Yes, I know... its Friday and I'm a tad late. It's been a crazy week with all of the INSANE politics on T.V and this made me start thinking of a simpler time, a time when watching T.V. meant relaxing.

I loved Nickelodeon and all of their shows. These were some of my favorites:

I can't imagine how many hours I spent on these :)

Happy Friday Everyone :)

Missing in action

I fell off the blogging wagon again!! I was super sick all weekend and didn't have the energy to even open the blinds. I was so bummed out because I had big plans which included a fab girls night. On Sunday after much discussion, hubby convinced me to go. You can read about it here: www.mrs-boots-and-sirs.blogspot.com

Anyway, feeling much better :) time travel Thursday coming soon.

Can't wait till these are in

Steve Madden is in my top 3 shoe brands because … I don’t know… I love all of their shoes. Every summer I buy a pair of sandals from them that I don't take off for the entire summer (true story... you can ask my friends). Last year it was a pair of gladiator sandals which my husband made fun of the entire summer because they made a clicking sound when I walked. I still wore them every day; it was to the point where they now look like I might have been a gladiator who wore them to a fight. For this summer I wanted something a little more feminine and I came across these :) I love them!!! They aren't at the store yet but as soon as they are… I will be at dadeland mall bringing them home.

On another note... not such a good Monday yesterday but I'm hoping for a better Tuesday. Have a great one yourself!

Fridays are my favorite day

Friday is here people ;) I love Fridays because it's the day when you wake up and realize... the weekend is here. It's perfect because you know you will have two whole days to do whatever you want... ANYTHING :) There is no better phrase than TGIF.

On another note, yesterday hubby sends me an email with the title “Puppies”. Before I continue, you have to know that he has been trying to convince me to get a dog ever since he realized my son loves them. We have always agreed that we wouldn’t have a dog, not because we don’t love them but because they are a lot of work and we chose to have a baby instead. Back to my story, I ignore the email because I know exactly what he is doing. He called me 3 TIMES yesterday to see if I had checked the email. When he gets home from work he brought home coldstone (I knew he had something up his sleeve) and after I thank him with a big kiss, he pulls out the laptop and opens the email with this pic:

Husband: aren’t they cute

Me: yes, but we are not getting one

Husband: But Matt told me he really wants one

Me: Matt can’t take care of a dog

Husband: But it’s the golden dog

Me: The golden dog can’t teach itself to go poop outside or feed himself or take himself to the groomer. We are not getting a puppy.

I have a feeling this isn’t over. Enjoy your weekend friends :)

New Page Design

I'm so excited this morning because I woke up to my new blog design :) I ran across some really nice blog designs a couple of weeks ago and found out they were done by the same person so I emailed her and asked if she could do mine. Jenn over at http://www.munchkinland-designs.com/ did an awesome job. She was so professional and easy to work with that I would recommend her to all my friends. So what do you think? I love it :)

ps. I have had so much I want to blog about lately but now time... I'm hoping to catch up tonight. Hope you have a GREAT Tuesday.

Time Travel Thursday

Earlier this week my friend Zuri asked me to suggest a Paris hotel since she and her awesome boyfriend will be celebrating medical school graduation with a trip to Europe. Her phone call inspired me to travel back in time to 2007 for our honeymoon. Hubby and I were able to spend 15 days visiting Paris, Normandy and Venice. Paris, in my opinion, is the most romantic city I have visited. I really enjoyed our long morning walks around the city and the stops at little sidewalk cafes where we lingered for hours at a time just drinking coffee, people watching and planning our day. Normandy made us appreciate the courage of our country, something we sometimes take for granted. Venice is the most unique place I have ever visited. I definitely felt a sense of “wow…this is a place to see”. We have the fondest memories of this trip and we always talk about doing it again one day. Until then…..

Wish I was there now...

Exciting news

New look coming soon....

cant wait ;)

Spring... where are you???

The whole point of living in Miami is so that we can complain about the heat most of the year and appreciate our 1 month of winter (if you can call it winter). This year has been extremely unusual and not only has it been a longer winter, but it’s also been colder. Back in January I was thrilled about our cold weather because I could finally wear my winter coat for more than a day or a vacation, and I could buy a cute pair of boots I saw at Macys without feeling like a wannabe New Yorker in Miami. Now here we are in March…. No heat on my skin in sight. As a matter of fact, the weather man this morning said that we should expect it to go into the 40’s again this week… why?????

Anyway, I miss the beach. The beach I rarely go to and always swear “I’m going to visit more often because we are so lucky to have it”. This year… I will… I swear…. Just bring me some heat please!

I love you Miami!

New Year's Resolution

I don't think I had a chance to blog about it but this year my new year’s resolution is to read at least 1 book per month. For you mean people that want to laugh at my small goal of reading 12 books this year.... please try reading with a toddler in your household.

So back to my story, I started with "Dear John" by Nicholas Sparks in January. Overall I really liked the book. Nicholas Sparks always finds a way of making his endings so real and I really enjoy that about his books (I also secretly love books that make me cry). I went to the movie a few weeks after reading the book and was very disappointed. I guess that's a good lesson, never watch a movie based on a book just weeks after finishing said book.

February is "Eat Pray Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. Yes, I said "is", I'm still reading it. I said I would read 1 book per month, not 1 book a month ;) So far I LOVE it, hoping to finish it this week so that I can start on my March book. Any good book suggestions?

Ps - I'm really interested in starting a serious book club, anyone interested?

Vienna?? Like the sausage?

Hi, my name is Emma and I'm addicted to the bachelor. Hi Emma!

The Bachelor is my favorite show, so much so that I blackmail hubby (I think he secretly loves it) with his favorite food every Monday just so that he will watch it with me.

Earlier this season hubby told me that some guy (reality Steve) predicted Vienna (the most immature) would end up with the bachelor. I didn't believe it... I didn't want to believe it. How could he choose Vienna (like the sausage) over anyone. Tonights episode made me wonder if I want to continue to watch guys make dumb decisions. By the way, I was totally against Jason picking Melissa and at least he was smart enough to fix his mistake. I can't wait to watch the wedding next Monday.

So now that I'm done with my rant... To the bachelor/bachelorette:

Will you accept this rose? I still love you.. Dumb guys and all.
